N.B. NOTE ON MARGARET LOCKWOOD SIGNED PHOTOS - BUYERS BEWARE! The majority (perhaps three-quarters) of the Margaret Lockwood "signed" photos that I see offered for sale, particularly on the internet, have an autograph that is printed on the card (like this one in my possession) or are stamped with a signature similar to this one, but often in purplish ink. Both types, with "signatures", printed or stamped, were posted in large quantities to fans by Margaret Lockwood's secretary when M.L. herself was away or too busy to attend to fan-mail, and most are authentic-looking. This one (pictured above) was sent to a fan by Margaret Lockwood's office in the 1960s in response to a fan-letter, and its' owner always believed that she owned a genuine signed photo, which alas was not the case. Genuine signed photos do exist, but buyers need to take special care. | |
