Alberto Semprini - 1908-1990; British (of Italian parents) pianist, composer and BBC presenter. He trained in Italy, and from 1957 he presented Semprini Serenade on BBC radio for a quarter of a century, playing with the BBC Revue Orchestra, although his commercial recordings were made with the New Abbey Light Symphony Orchestra. Mary Small - 1922-2007, American singer and actress, billed as 'The Little Girl with the Big Voice' (before that billing was used for Judy Garland). She was a major radio star, popular in the 1930s as a child performer, performing on the radio with the most important bands and orchestras of the age, including Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey. For 14 years she hosted a radio programme in the USA across all the networks. Leslie Strange - British popular impressionist. actor and entertainer; he was a well known star of the 1930s and 40s, appearing in variety and pantomime. During the Second World War his imitations of politicians such as Hitler and LLoyd George, and film stars including Stan Laurel, were especially popular on Pathé newsreels , and some of these still survive - 3.5 x 5.5 inches (9 x 14 cm) autographed postcard, signed "1943 Leslie Strange". £12

 

 

 

 

      

Eugene Stratton - 1861-1918, American-born singer and dancer, a huge star in British music hall, mostly as black-faced minstrel, best remembered for singing "Lilly of Laguna" - 3.5 x 5.5 inches (9 x 14 cm) autographed postcard, signed: "Yours truly, Eugene Stratton", inscription rather faint, but firmly indented and clearer than appears on scans. £15

Randolph Sutton - 1888-1969, major star of British music hall, appearing as a "swell" in top hat and tails, singing saucy songs; in pantomime he played both Principal Boys and Dames. His most famous song was "On Mother Kelly's Doorstep", Irish entertainer Danny La Rue singing this song as a tribute to him - 2.75 x 3.5 inches (7 x 9 cm) small autographed photo, signed: "Best wishes, Randolph Sutton" in black biro, firmer and clearer than appears on scan. £20
