Roy Royston - 1899-1976, British actor who appeared in a large number of films; from 1912 to 1914 (still being of small stature as a teenager), he was a child actor in silent films. In the later stage of the First World War he was a pilot in the Royal Flying Corps/Royal Air Force, winning the Military Medal for bravery. After the war he resumed his career in silent films (starring in Mr. Wu and The Magistrate), then turned his attention to the stage, playing leading roles in the West End, including The Cousin From Nowhere, Little Nellie Kelly, and then on Broadway: Peggy O'My Dears, June Day and Ups-a-Daisy.
